The oak -
We use the highest quality joinery-grade oak. We do not use the cheaper "character" oak seen elsewhere, which can suffer from splits and cracks. Our oak is 2cm thick, and beautifully solid.
The finish -
After sanding, the shelf is finished with a clear hard wax oil. The hard wax oil is scratch and scuff resistant and protects against liquid spills. It is also entirely child and animal safe.
The fittings -
Our shelves are supplied fully assembled. The mounting holes are pre-drilled and are hidden behind two oak mushroom plugs (three mushroom plugs on shelves longer than 80cm). We provide both solid wall (brick/stone) fittings and specialist plasterboard (hollow wall) fittings. Our easy fixing pack also includes full fitting instructions.
